  1. Technical Survey (TS)
  • Deploying teams to confirm and define contaminated areas
  • Using manual, mechanical, and canine assets
  • Identifying actual hazardous boundaries more precisely
  1. Manual Demining
  • Trained sappers using handheld detectors and excavation tools
  • Detailed, slow, high-accuracy clearance
  1. Mechanical Demining
  • Use of armored machines (tillers, flails, vegetation cutters)
  • Rapid clearance or ground preparation
  • Reduces risk and accelerates operations
  1. Mine Detection Dogs (MDD)
  • Highly trained dogs for detecting explosive scent
  • Used for survey, verification, and quality control steps
  1. Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD)
  • Identification and safe detonation or removal of UXO, cluster munitions, IEDs, and abandoned ammunition
  • On-site neutralization or safe transport
  1. Battle Area Clearance (BAC)
  • Clearing UXO from former conflict zones (not necessarily mined)
  • Removal of explosive remnants scattered across fields, forests, or urban areas

  • Internal and external inspections to ensure clearance meets international standards (IMAS)
